Whether you are navigating
in your vehicle, vessel, aircraft or other mobile
platform, the Asset-Tracking-and-Management-System
(ATMS) can provide you with your current location in real-time, displayed
on real-world maps such as street maps, nautical charts, aerial
photographs, satellite images, or topographic maps. The ATMS provides complete
navigational features to provide you with your current 3-dimensional position
(latitude, longitude and height), as well as your current heading (direction
of travel) and speed (in meters-per-second), miles-per hour,
kilometers-per-hour or knots). Your
current position and velocity information is updated in real-time on a map
display of your choice. The map
display can utilize standard Geographic-Information-System (GIS) map data
formats, both raster and vector data formats. In addition to displaying
your location and velocity in real-time, the ATMS will also provide you
with the ability to ‘log’ or map your current location, and history using
points, polylines, or polygons on the mapping display. You can even use the ATMS to create new
map data from your positional data. Not only will the ATMS provide you with an easy to
use, graphical interface (GUI) showing your current location in an easy to
read map display, the ATMS provides standard navigational features such as
waypoint navigation, which will provide you with the current distance and
direction to selected destinations (waypoints). The ATMS also supports routing functions, which will
provide you with navigational information along predefined routes. Information such as distance down-line,
distance off-line, distance to go, course correction and estimated time-of-arrival to next
turn. |
