The Asset-Tracking-and-Management-System (ATMS) by
IGTI, Inc. can be used in support of Intelligent Transporation System (ITS)
requirements for applications such as ‘next-arrival’ to
provide real-time information to the public, operators and management
as to the location of public transporation assets such as buses, trains, and
shuttle services. Using the ATMS in conjunction with
fixed-route services, the ATMS can be used to provide
real-time information as to the status, location and arrival of public transportation
services. This information is
combined with the fixed route scheduled information to provide real-time
predictions of arrivals along a fixed route and may then be presented to the
public through the used of kiosks or through web-based applications. The ATMS can be used in ITS
applications to provide better scheduling and route compliance for fixed
route applications, and can be used provide better arrival predictions taking
into account day of the week, time of day, traffic, construction and other
considerations that may adversely effect the operations of fixed route
paratransit applications. |
